Privacy Policy
This is a courtesy translation. Only the German version is legally binding.
We take the protection of your data seriously and only collect what we genuinely need for our advice. Here you can find out what data is generated when you visit this website and use the Safari Finder, what we use it for and what rights you have.

[Name or company incl. legal form]

Email: info@safarimarkt.de
For any questions about data protection and to exercise your rights, simply send an email to the address above.
2. The key points at a glance
- We do not sell data and do not use any analytics or advertising trackers.
- We serve fonts, images and videos from our own server.
- We do not pass your name or contact details on to our partners on the ground. To obtain offers, we share only your travel wishes, without any personal details.
- We only put you in direct contact with a partner if you expressly ask us to.
3. Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted by [hosting provider, address, server location]. Each time the site is accessed, the server processes technically necessary data: IP address, date and time, the address requested, the amount of data transferred, browser and operating system, and the previously visited page. We need this data to deliver the website and protect it against attacks. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure, functioning service (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The log files are deleted after [number] days. A data processing agreement is in place with the provider (Art. 28 GDPR).
4. Cookies and storage on your device
We use only one technically necessary cookie: avico_cookie_consent stores your choice in the cookie banner so that we don’t ask you again on every visit. It contains no identifier relating to you and is deleted after 365 days. We do not currently use any statistics or marketing cookies.
The Safari Finder saves your progress (language, current question, selected answers) in your browser’s local storage so you can carry on after reloading the page. This data stays on your device and is only transmitted when you submit the Finder. After that, we delete your progress automatically; you can also remove it at any time via your browser settings.
The legal basis is Section 25(2) No. 2 TDDDG, because the storage is strictly necessary for the function you requested, as well as Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
5. Safari Finder
What we process
In the Finder you answer questions about your trip, for example travel period, length of trip, desired level of comfort, peace or bustle, and favourite animals. From this, your browser calculates a recommendation of suitable National Parks. To see this recommendation and receive personal advice, you enter your name and email address and confirm your consent. We then store:
- name and email address,
- your answers and the calculated park recommendations,
- the selected language and the date and time of your consent.
Your request is stored in our website system and also sent to us by email.
How your request is handled
- Recommendation: You immediately receive a recommendation of suitable parks. It is calculated automatically from your answers, serves as non-binding guidance and has no legal effect on you.
- Enquiries to partners without personal data: To be able to make you specific offers, we send enquiries to our partners on the ground in Kenya. In doing so, we pass on only your travel information, such as period, length of trip, preferred safari style and recommended parks. The partners do not receive your name, email address or other contact details, so they cannot link the enquiry to any person.
- Offers via us: We review our partners’ offers and forward them to you by email.
- Direct contact only with your consent: If you would like to pursue an offer, we only put you in touch with the partner after you have expressly confirmed this to us. Only then do we pass the necessary contact details on to that one partner. Because the partner is based in Kenya, i.e. outside the EU, and there is no adequacy decision by the EU Commission for Kenya, we will inform you of this beforehand. The transfer then takes place on the basis of your explicit consent or because it is necessary for the trip you requested (Art. 49(1)(a) and (b) GDPR).
Legal bases and storage period
We process your details in order to respond to your request and, if you wish, advise you (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), and on the basis of your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future – a short email to info@safarimarkt.de is enough.
We delete your request as soon as it has been fully dealt with and you no longer wish to receive advice, at the latest [12] months after our last contact. If a booking is made, the statutory retention periods apply.
Spam protection
The Finder contains a field that is invisible to people, which we use to detect automated submissions. We also limit the number of requests per connection: for this purpose we store an encrypted check value (hash) of your IP address for no more than 10 minutes, from which the IP address cannot be reconstructed. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
6. Contact form
When you write to us via the contact form, we process your name, phone number, email address, travel destination and message in order to respond to your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Your message is transmitted directly to our own server, stored there and also sent to us by email; we do not use any external form services. To protect against spam, the same measures apply as for the Safari Finder (invisible check field, short-term limit per connection). We delete the data as soon as your request has been dealt with and no retention obligations apply.
7. Contact by email
If you send us an email, we use your details solely to deal with your enquiry (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR). Our mailbox is operated by [email provider].
8. Google Maps
On our contact page you can display a Google Maps map. It is only loaded when you actively click “Load map”; no connection to Google is established beforehand. After the click, your browser transmits, among other things, your IP address to Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Data may also be transferred to Google LLC in the USA; Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. The legal basis is the consent you give by clicking (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, Section 25(1) TDDDG). You can find further information in Google’s privacy policy.
9. Your rights
You have the right at any time to
- access the data stored about you (Art. 15 GDPR),
- rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR),
- erasure (Art. 17 GDPR) and restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR),
- data portability (Art. 20 GDPR),
- object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR),
- withdraw any consent given with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR).
You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for us is the Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit (Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information), Alt-Moabit 59–61, 10555 Berlin.
10. Changes
We update this privacy policy when our website or our processes change. The version published here at any given time applies.
